John Campbelljohn

Multiple Award Winner/Nominee John Campbelljohn is a hard hitting Atlantic Canadian musician who's live show has resulted in a steadily increasing fan following. John has been at it for over twenty years, following the tradition of the ones like Duane Allman, Sonny Landreth, George Thorogood, Jeff Healey, and Mick Clarke. He is a seasoned professional who knows what the crowd wants because he's been there a thousand times.

Now Campbelljohn serves his fans with "Nerves of Steel", another catching blues-rock album after his European debut "Hook Slide + Sinker” that led to several awards and nominations in Canada and was a great success in Europe. "Nerves of Steel" again is a variety of excellent acoustic and electric songs that shows the great skills that this man comes up with his slide and acoustic guitar. Not only has German „Rolling Stone „compared Campbelljohn with Johnny Winter at his best times.

John Campbelljohn was born in Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. He grew up in the midst of the lively, musical culture of kitchen parties and fiddling jamborees, that Cape Breton is so famous for. But John went against the locally popular stream of Celtic Music - what inspired him was BB King, Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones and the Blues.

At the age of 14, John got serious about playing guitar, his father’s guitar. Duane Allman playing 'Statesboro Blues' had a most profound effect on John. From that time on, up to the present, John Campbelljohn dedicated himself wholeheartedly to playing slide guitar. He worked hard, and inspired to go back to the source, John studied the music of Mississippi Fred McDowell, Elmore James, Son House, Muddy Waters, Earl Hooker, Robert Johnson and many others. Later he discovered the Sonny Landreth "behind the slide” technique and began to apply it to the blues genre. Growing up in a musical environment, John's talent and devotion to musicianship helped his song-writing and singing skills to develop naturally

Hakim Ludin

Hakim Ludin "The Percussion Magician": Magic sounds and rhythm creations are the unmistakable hallmarks of Hakim Ludin, whose instruments are without equal anywhere in the world. Hakim shows that it is possible to play "melodically" and "softly" on percussion instruments in his own very special way. The percussion artist was born in Kabul/Afghanistan, studied at the Karlsruhe College of Music and is a recognized pioneer of modern percussion art.
The Rhythm Magician, who is internationally sought after, live on stage and also in the studio, guarantees incredible sounds and musical moments of surprise. For example, he has surprised the audience with his solo performances on the tours of Konstantin Wecker and Hannes Wader as well as at concert evenings with Roger Willemsen or the Berlin Philharmonic. He introduces his unique sound creations into various musical projects. His solo performance "Magie der Trommel" (magic of the drum) delighted the sold out concert hall in the Brotfabrik Frankfurt in 2013.
At international festivals, he has played with great performers such as Lenny Castro, Luis Conte, Terry Bozzio, Steve Smith, Jeff Hamilton, Wolfgang Haffner. Since 1996, Hakim Ludin has been head of the renowned "Rhythms" seminar in Marktoberdorf for which has received international acclaim.

He is guest lecturer at the Berner Musikhochschule (College of Music), at the Stiftung Universität Hildesheim and at the art academy, Kunstakademie Betzigau. International drum camps regularly invite him to be a percussion lecturer: Montreal, Luxembourg, Warsaw, Dresden, Karlsruhe, Paderborn.
As a composer, Hakim Ludin adopts boundary-breaking concepts. The fact that he has his fingers on the pulse of the times is shown by announcements on radio and television. His work has been awarded with a jazz prize amongst other things.
He has been happy to pass on his experience in his own DVD series "modern percussionist" with six units on kanjira, frame drums, cajon, bongos, congas and also in teaching books.
